Rex Tillerson is out as Secretary of State and Mike Pompeo current Director of the Central Intelligence Agency is in at the State Department.

True to form President Trump dumped Tillerson one day after Tillerson blasted the Russians for alleged involvement in the poisoning of a former Russian spy in the United Kingdom. His condemnation was stronger than the mild “we stand” with friends response issued by the White House over what British Prime Minister Theresa May says has Russia’s handprints all over it.

Trump has consistently interfered with Tillerson’s diplomatic activity for the full year that Tillerson has been in the post. Last year Trump chided Tillerson for seeking to negotiate a resolution to Kim Jong Un’s march towards nuclear military capability.

Last week Trump agreed to meet Un without informing Tillerson that he planned to do so.

Like the firing of FBI Director James Comey, Tillerson was fired while away from his office. He was on a State Department trip to Africa.

The governance by chaos continues.
