Kenosha Sets Stage for November Election
Last month the sports world stopped business as usual for a moment to contemplate the latest Black life disregarded by a white police officer, following the shooting of Jacob Blake in the back by a Kenosha, Wisconsin cop. It seems each police encounter is more gruesome than the previous one.
I applaud NBA players who sat out a couple of games to protest this wave of police brutality that is sweeping the country.
However, I believe their protest would have a more significant impact if they caused the league to abandon this season. We must develop a three prone attack to address cop lawlessness. For starters, We must march, vote, and boycott.
Also, last month the Republican National Convention made it painfully clear that the battle in November is between a Trump America of violent racial bigotry or a Biden America that includes the interest of all Americans. The battle lines could not be more straightforward.
In November, we will see if there are more reasonable and decent people in this country than there are threatening and indecent people.
Every sensible and decent American household needs a voting plan and a backup plan in place by September 15, 2020. And when the earliest moment to cast your ballot arrives, each household must act to put their voting plan into action.
