Damn, Jussie Smollett, damn! How could you do this? How could you make up a story like this, using a rope tied in nooses, homophobic and racist language? How could you do it?
Suffice it to say, I am angry. I am as angry as I have ever been over the behavior of a Negro in a long, long time. Steve Harvey — no relation to this writer — got me upset last week with his statement that integrity is damned, its all about the Benjamins because the entertainment industry “is not the white people’s game. It’s not the Black people’s game. It’s the money game out here.”
You prove Steve Harvey is not the only greedy Negro in the “money game” who will throw his integrity to the wind to rake in the all mighty dollar. It comes as no surprise that Steve Harvey sees money signs when he wakes in the morning. He’s always been this way. He has never advocated for the advancement of Black people nor anyone who is not in his close-knit Harvey clan.
Jussie, that’s a clan with a C and not with a K, not the Klan card you played on Good Morning America with Robin Roberts. But you, one of the young, gifted and Black homosexuals living your best life because of the many thousands of unnamed souls who hung from trees simply by standing up like a man in the face of racial prejudice.
For the past two years, Black leadership has been fighting hard day and night to prevent the Trump administration from turning the gains made possible by the works and death of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., from disappearing from the daily life of America. And you with one bold lie told because you wanted to increase your salary as a star on Empire have nearly destroyed the changes brought about by Dr. King.
Your selfishness has pushed the cause of civil and human rights back to 1954. Needless to say, you shame us all.
Additionally, your selfishness has caused me to agree with President Trump when he called for you to apologize to his MAGA nation. You owe them an apology.
While you are at it, you owe the Black community an apology as well. Surely, Dr. King did not take a bullet in the jaw for you to dishonor and disrespect the struggle for civil rights?
Certainly, Baynard Rustin did not work hard to create a climate that would allow members of the LGBTQ community to come out of the shadows in the 21st-century. They can be themselves.
You owe your community of color and your sexual preference community an apology for trading on their pain and suffering just because you wanted to make more money.
Why do you need to make more money?
You already make more money than 95 percent of Black Americans and LGBTQ Americans. I’m willing to bet that you made more money on one episode of Empire than I made last year. Yet while I am out here fighting on a limited income so that all Black Americans can have equality under the law, you are telling lies to take advantage of the pain and suffering of our community, just for a few dollars more.
Yeah, yeah, I understand, integrity is damned, as Steve Harvey says, ‘it’s the money game out here.”
